Description
A hearty and easy San Giorgio lasagna recipe with layers of cheese, meat, and classic tomato sauce — a family favorite!
Ingredients
1 box San Giorgio lasagna noodles
1 lb ground beef or sausage
2 cups marinara or crushed tomatoes
15 oz ricotta cheese or cottage cheese
2 cups shredded mozzarella
1/2 cup grated Parmesan
2 eggs
1 tsp salt
1 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp pepper
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
2. Boil San Giorgio noodles until al dente, then drain.
3. In a skillet, brown the meat and drain excess fat.
4. Add marinara sauce to meat and simmer.
5. In a bowl, mix ricotta, eggs, basil, salt, and pepper.
6. In a 9×13 dish, spread meat sauce on the bottom.
7. Layer noodles, cheese mixture, mozzarella, and sauce. Repeat layers.
8. Finish with mozzarella and Parmesan on top.
9. Bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes.
10. Let rest 10–15 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Letting the lasagna rest is key for clean slices.
You can freeze an entire tray before baking.
